Coles Chittaway Point

Well what can I say , I have worked for Coles Chittaway for the last 4 to 5 months , I started with a great desire to work well in a well run harmonious, safe , clean environment ,needless to say this was not to be. If you don’t recognise me , I,m the nice cheerful guy in the meat department who always greeted any customers with a good morning and a smile, nothing was ever to much for you , I will miss all my costumers and thankyou for making my day with your positive comments as a sure reflection of my costumer service. Unfortunately I was sacked from my position this was a immense surprise to me and all my store colleagues whom I feel are so disadvantaged by the fact that they cannot raise any issues without been persecuted and , I am at the moment raising some issues with higher management in the hope that they will be firmly be engaged with resolving any issues with the management within the store because not only have there been neglect to safety issues and bullying in the workplace there is also the issue of food safety. You simply must have the right to raise issues any issues within your workplace without ramification given the it is factual, and ho boy do I have proof. If you are anyone that has experienced this at this particular store or any other , please feel free to add any comments with your experiences. Best Regards Andrew

Quite possibly one of the most dated Coles supermarkets on the Central Coast. This supermarket, an Ex Bi-Lo is tucked away in a small, out of the way shopping centre just off Wyong Road. Small, poky and outdated, this whole shopping centre is way overdue for refurbishment. It must be said though, the girl that served me was incredibly friendly and epitomised excellent customer service!

It is a good supermarket you want to dart in and out for a quick shop without having to brave tonnes of people in larger shopping centres, with loads of foot/street traffic with added anxiety and angst. Chittaway Bay Coles is the perfect place if you're looking to avoid the large crowds that are always present, with the threat of panic attacks that large centres like Westfield Tuggerah tend to envoke in me. I'd much prefer this relaxed Coles, with its fast and friendly service anytime.

Staff are fantastic. Especially the older lady that works in the Deli. But i have to say I've been extremely disappointed over the last year with their product lines. Staples like fresh dog food, peas, minced garlic, white sauce, rice bubbles, bananas etc are always out of stock. I've noticed they have cut many coles or other cheaper branded products in favor of more expensive products. It's becoming extremely frustrating especially with expenses going up. Even though it's my local it's time i go back to aldi and woolies. If your going to change anything please change your yoghurt flavours. It's always blueberry or vanilla. Boring. Gippsland make so many lovely flavours. It would be nice to have more variety.

NOT EVEN DESERVING OF 1 STAR… Staff are abusive toward customers & other staff members & will try degrade you if your not in their little filthy cigarette group. The store was fine when James was manager, then Jenn became store manager and couldn’t manage 1 department let alone a whole store, to worried about being cliquey with the teenagers. Quiet hilarious considering she was 45+yrs. If you work 4 hours over 36hrs they will bring you into meeting and and belittle you and tell you that you can’t work those hours and will not be paid for them, numerous occasions I was not paid correctly as were other team members. Marion the grocery manager was extremely abusive toward staff that weren’t on “ her level”, would name call and make rumours, typical of a depressed 70yr old. They do “internal investigation’s” for bullying & harassment then turn to victim blame. Definitely would not recommend working or even shopping at this store. Horrible…

Tonight they have a security guard at the self checkouts, his uniform makes him look like he is going to a basketball game, sneers at you as you leave ( frustrated cop wannabe) really enhances this lovely shop (the coles staff are mostly nice). I assume people are stealing food all the time and the staff cannot stop them. Very average store and clearly coles has no intention of upgrading.
